the first visit was a work related! that's for the launch of radyo5 cebu on 2012 of november
mostly during lunch and on our way to tv5 cebu station and back to our hotel
we stayed at the regency hotel cebu, quite near the city capitol and some establishments that are walking distance to fuente osmena
on 12th november was the launching of local version of radyo5 newsfm in cebu,
local radio arm of tv5 manila
with a live broadcast of some tv5 news programs, punto asintado, t3 and aksyon primetime from cebu
immediately following my last leg of work,
we headed again to cebu for another round of work, this time with maricel halili and my team (my first time to work with maricel halili outside manila)
there was a political crisis in cebu, few days before christmas
cebu governor gwen garcia was suspended by malacanan and vice governor agnes magpale sworn in as acting governor
this caused a lot of tension in the capitol of cebu!
as supporters of both party stayed outside while the suspended governor also stayed in her office to express her resistance in the order of suspension

and it was all amazing!, but that was all for work
and i haven't explored the city that much
and i haven't explored the city that much
and so, last week was a time for purely vacation in cebu! with my family
our first stop, the mactan shrine, only few meters away from mactan international airport of cebu,
and then we headed downtown, at the magallanes street, cebu city,
our first stop, the famous and the historical magellan's cross named after ferdinand magellan during spanish time

cebu city has it's own fort santiago, the fort san pedro located at the plaza independencia,
just like fort santiago in manila that's surrounded by walls but here is too small, with a garden and museum inside
the transportation around cebu city is accesible mostly to jeepneys and taxi
it's highly urbanized district, with big shopping malls and business centeres around the city,
but unlike in manila, the traffic situation in cebu is somewhat manageable
it's urban but in a probinsiya feels with its historical and heritage sites around the city
those are my reasons why i most definitely love cebu city!
it's always my dream local destination and time and again, i look forward to visit either for work or for pleasure!
til' next time! daghang salamat cebu city!
