Edsa Away From Edsa

EDSA AWAY FROM EDSA

whatever pnoy's intention, the anniversary of people power revolution

last 25th of february was celebrated away from edsa!

and apparently it was the first time that the main celebration did not commence at the exact people power site in edsa

where the historic event transpired 28 years ago

the people power anniversary took place at cebu and then in leyte, we went to tanauan, leyte last monday to cover some major events there

this is also my first visit to leyte, the hometown of my grandfather

pnoy led all major activities in leyte, he first visited the resettlement area of barangay pago

and headed to tanauan central school for the ceremony of the groundbreaking of tananauan plaza

and spearheaded the signing of agreement for the proposed bunkhouses for relocation sites

pnoy said that he wants to check the situation and to make sure that all government initiatives are being implemented

the president also explained why he choose to celebrate in leyte with the victims of yolanda .. 

"higit pa sa pagbaklas ng diktaturya ang edsa ay pagdiriwang dinsa kakayahan ng pilipino bumanogn sa anumang pagsubok ... tungkol ito sa mga sinalanta ng kalamidad at kayong mga hinamon ngunit hinde umatras". so there!

in lieu with the theme "kapit-bisig tungo sa pagbangon" that focused on the rehabilitation efforts from storm damages last year

and later that day, pnoy's last stop at tacloban city where he visited the eastern visayas regional medical center

and had brief encounter with tacloban city officials including mayor alfred romualdez
