NATURE ADVENTURE
-ryandgreat, gma network center
it's inevitable that this year we'll spend another holy week in subic and zambales just like what we did last year!
that spontaneous "joyride" from manila to subic would end up on an island hopping of sorts! and i didn't see it coming!
we spent half of the day on a boat ride from one island to another, but as much as i'd like to recall the name of each islands that we've visited,
i can only remember one island the name is potipot and the rest escapes me as i write this
i survived without extra clothes and underwear! hahaha
i have to leave immediately for an impending work on the following day while my prens has decided to stay there until easter sunday
it was all spontaneous! but all the more enjoyable!
this time we had fulfilled an itinerary! yes it was organized and well-planned!
and our consensus is to spend on four locations on each of the day! subic, zambales, swimming, trek or boat and overnight in anawangin!
we spent the entire maundy thursday in subic,
we had long walks along the seaside and then food tripping!
save the fasting for good friday,
so we indulge to ihaw-ihaw on the seaside for dinner and then headed for some dessert at a nearby coffee shop named xtremely xpresso cafe
where they offer amazing desert in town
and well aside from blended coffee and frap, they also serve pastries, deli, wine, pizza and best of all ice cream!
and it was a laid back kind of day on a good friday as we just stayed at the downtown zambales and mostly nurturing the provincial life!
we spent some time at the plaza! mayroon perya sa plaza! haha
and its unusual that we've not seen any prusisyon anywhere the streets
then here comes the highlight of our vacation! an overnight stay in anawangin island!
and its as good as the weather condition on that weekend was sunny and mild!
but before that, we spent an hour at the crystal beach to warm-up!
there's nothing really special on crystal beach except that it's a gateway for surfing enthusiasts!
we've heard a lot of good things about anawangin!
and they say that its a secluded island and there's no electricity, no phone signal, no internet and no retail stores,
its all fine and good as we're in for a relaxing weekend getaway we've been wanting!

we've heard a lot of good things about anawangin!
and they say that its a secluded island and there's no electricity, no phone signal, no internet and no retail stores,
its all fine and good as we're in for a relaxing weekend getaway we've been wanting!
there are two ways to get there,
by trekking at the mountains for hours! and a boat ride from pundaquit for about 30 minutes! and so we took the latter! that's the easiest!
as soon as we arrived, we settled immediately! but it took us a while to set-up the tent that held wide of the mark!
since we're expecting that there's no retail stores, we have enough supplies but it ended that we've run out of something!
and fortunately there's one retail store in sight that sells few drinks and canned food pack and snacks!
but boy the price is ranging to 50 to 100 each! so it's highly recommended to bring food and all
and then we left everything in our tent and proceeded to the much anticipated nature adventure!
the sight is full of beauty and goodness of the island
it's such a breathtaking view around us from the trees to the mountains and to the rivers and seas!
we're enjoying the great, great atmosphere that we almost forget the passing of time
so we then we decided to test the clear water and the pure white sand while waiting for the sun to disappear
when evening creeps and becomes more quiet then it's time for bonfire session! with some snacks and drinks on the side and op cors more, more kuwentuhan!
although we veer away from the usual holy week tradition of visita iglesia, prusisyon and all, we find this as ideal alternative for the soul
the quiet surrounding offers nothing but inner peace for the soul that makes our holy week reflection and nature adventure truly worthwhile!
